Celebration: MSI GTX960 Gaming 100 Million Edition Featured

thumbMSI wanted to celebrate selling over 100 million NVIDIA GPU based graphics cards and what better way to do it than with a custom limited edition NVIDIA graphics card?

The distinctive green MSI GTX 960 100 Million Edition has the same core specifications as the standard MSI GTX 960 2G Gaming card but it also has a back-plate and the obvious green highlights to the cooler instead of the usual red. The LED on the card is also green and it looks awesome.

We had the opportunity to obtain one of these cards for a very special project that involved green in the theme - but more on that after we cover off some features and specifications..

We can see the card sporting 2GB of DDR5 @7010MHz and video outputs include 1 Dual Link DVI port, 1 HDMI and 3 DisplayPort. The clocks are broken down into 3 modes as listed in the specs below but you know with a cooler like the Frozr V, it's going to be above stock.

The MSI Gaming application is not specific to the GTX 960 but it's a great little app that allows MSI card owners the ability to easily overclock their GPU, switch monitor colour profiles and also determine the behaviour of the card's LED (flashing, breathing, pulsing, etc)

The Twin Frozr V cooler is extremely quiet and at idle or light load, it's actually silent thanks to the SuperSU pipes and Torx fans. As usual, MSI has implemented the Hi-c CAP capacitors, Super Ferrite Chokes and Solid CAP military class 4 components for durability and longevity.

The box includes a 6 pin - 8 pin power adaptor, DVI to VGA adaptor, Driver CD and light manual. The 100 Million Edition also includes a Far Cry 4 mouse mat that has a pretty nice quality surface texture for gaming on.

We built a Minecraft Tribute system, for a recent RESPAN LAN event using a Fractal Design Node 804 with custom vinyl and some green LED fans and we were looking for a graphics card that would suit the build. The motherboard for this build was a Gigabyte Sniper m3 Z77 board with the bright green PCIE slots. When we saw the GTX 960 100 Million Edition, with the matching green shroud and green LED it was like the universe was trying to tell us something so we installed it and the end result was pretty impressive.
